Tricia's 3 most important rules of teaching |
| |
1. Read every day.
2. Sing every day.
3. Read and sing every day.
It sometimes seems as though we are caught up in a time of more assessment than teaching. It is crucially important that we evaluate all of the spectacular, funderful things we do and have ALWAYS done and fully realize that we are already meeting the needs of our little ones and the needs of those assessments.
Tricia's workshops help teachers address today's standards for listening and oral language skills using puppets, props, and songs. Participants will make the neccessary connections to emergent reading and writing skills and come away from the sessions with ideas to use immediately in the classroom to enhance early childhood programs.
She makes these skills accessible to all classroom teachers, regardless of experience or background. Anyone can sing...you don't need a degree in music. Anyone can turn a puppet into a character...you don't need to be a ventriloquist to convince a young child that a sock has a personality. Join in the fun!
Tricia is available for after school workshops and inservices for early childhood centers and parent groups

CIRCLE TIME WITH TUNES AND TALES |
| |
Any one can tell a story without a book and can use songs in their
teaching without special training. Tricia gives confidence to all in this delightful inservice using props,
music, and puppets to teach during circle time, story time and all transitions of the daily routine.

USING PUPPETS AS TEACHING PARTNERS |
| |
In this workshop presentation Tricia spends "hands on" time with participants
using puppets to teach in subject areas. We are used to using puppets in storytelling, but this workshop
gets all teachers working creatively to find ways to use them in math science and social studies as well!
Can a talking banana teach nutrition? You bet!

USING TUNES AND TALES WITH THE CURRICULUM STANDARDS |
| |
We all need to be aware of the GLCE's and what they mean to our students of today and tomorrow.
That doesn't mean we have to give up the fun! Tricia shows workshop participants how we can still teach the whole child in
this inventive inservice.
